Change?!

Obama Pictures, Images and Photos

Ok, I guess it's time for me to weigh in on our country's current events.
I am proud to live in a country where we can choose our own government. I can't wait until I can vote!
Being a Republican, I was nervous about the outcome. I was nervous if McCain won, there would be a TON of racist issues. And if Obama won, lots of things that I think are bad, will be legal. (i.e. abortion)
When I first heard of Obama, I loved the idea of a black president, it was time for us to step it up and have a "first."
But I also loved the fact McCain fought in a real war and Sarah Palin was a woman, and I strongly believe in Woman Rights.
Obama just didn't do it for me though. He seemed shady to me.
I sat by the tv all night on Tuesday, watching CNN, while trying to work on homework.
When the results came in, I can't say I was happy about it.
Naturally at first, I felt a little let down. And a little scared.
I wanted Obama to lay out his plan more. All I ever heard was "Change! Change! CHANGE!" And for me, I don't exactly know what "change" means in Obama's eyes!?
Thursday morning I was swamped with forwarded texts from friends saying anything from "all white people report to the fields" and other things like, "it's a cold day in hell and sit back and get ready to enjoy your welfare checks."
At first I laughed, then I decided...hey, I'm not going to sit here and think/talk negatively about my country's president. While he wasn't my first choice for president, it does not good to trash talk on him. It won't change the fact that he is the president of the U.S.
Hopefully, he's not all talk. I will respect him and his opinions. I am going to try and keep an open mind about him. "Hope" is what he is about, right!? Well I can just hope that things will be pleasant for the next 2 years. I will give him a chance and hopefully he can pull it all together. He's got a huge mess to clean up and we need someone in America to step things up and "git er dun!" ;)
God bless us, him and America.
